This Vlog records my study life during COVID-19 quarantine time.
Challenging but life’s still going on
There are so many challenges during the lockdown, especially all the courses have moved to online teaching, which is different from the face to face lectures.
Many may feel lost and frustrated during this difficult time. To be honest, I seemed to lose my direction at the beginning of the quarantine, hopeless and powerless. However, I still need to keep up with my study, which makes me realize that life is still going on.
Be positive and resilient
The way we see the problem is the problem. It is not what happens to us hurts but how we respond to the physical environment matters.
I read plenty of books and watched videos related to mental health in order to look into how others manage their life during the COVID-19. Furthermore, the University of Lincoln and Student Wellbeing Centre have provided massive support to us including the Global Lounge and LIBS.
I find my own way to make this quarantine life productive and energetic.
All my lectures and assignments have been finished on time during this quarantine with massive support from the University of Lincoln and my productive daily schedule. The best way to adapt to quarantine life is to change our mindset and be positive.
Digital skills improvement
The University of Lincoln has implemented different technologies to optimise online teaching including Collaborate Ultra, Skype for Business, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Email, etc.
To some extent, this has narrowed the digital capability gaps between university and workplace. I have tried different communication tools which can help me better adapt to different clients meeting preference in the future.
Be proactive: every day counts!
Begin with the end in mind.
Some people choose to stay in bed and watch Netflix every day while others consider this quarantine time as the chance to absorb much new knowledge and do reflections on their lives and studies.
Without doubts, I choose the latter. I started with the end of quarantine life and visualised my destination in the near future then set up my short-term and long-term goal aligned with my value. Bear in mind that every day we can make progress and create something different.
Quarantine life is not something that can control us. However, we can control our response to this tough time.
Stay informative but not just the news. The news always reports something goes wrong in the world. If we just focus on the news, we could easily get wrong as well. Use this valuable time to read more books, get more knowledge or maybe learn a new language.
Stay positive, stay healthy and stay home.
